How to book trains, buses and ferries in Asia

By Aviendra · Updated

Short answer

Search your route and date, compare the available trains, buses and ferries, and complete the booking with the transport partner. Before paying, check the departure and arrival points, the cancellation terms and how the ticket is delivered.

How booking works on Aviendra

The Aviendra transport page lets you search routes. The booking and ticket are completed with our transport partner, 12Go, so 12Go’s price and cancellation terms apply to your purchase.

Before you pay

  • Check the exact departure and arrival stations, terminals or piers. Large cities often have several.
  • Check the departure time and the journey duration, and whether the time shown is local.
  • Read the cancellation and change terms for that specific ticket.
  • Check how the ticket is delivered, such as an e-ticket or a voucher to exchange.

On the day

  • Arrive early, especially for ferries and long-distance buses.
  • Keep the booking confirmation and your ID or passport available.
  • If you were given a voucher, find out where to exchange it for a ticket and allow time for that.
  • Have mobile data ready to open your confirmation. A travel eSIM can help with this.

If something goes wrong

Contact the booking partner named in your confirmation first, since they hold the booking. You can also email Aviendra and we will help you work out the next step.
